Inside GOAT SMASH
Parallel compression with the level held
What it does
Makes drums hit harder. It's parallel compression from one knob: it slams a copy of the sound and mixes it back in, so hits get big and punchy but the level stays about where it was.
How to use it
Put it on your drum bus or a single drum track. Turn it up until the hits feel heavy and exciting; half is a lot, full is a lot more. It holds the level for you, so you shouldn't need to turn anything else down afterwards.
